Discoverability and Reuse Infrastructure
Persistent Identifiers
Every article receives a DOI, and authors are required to supply an ORCID identifier. Funding is registered where a funder identifier exists.
Machine-Readable Metadata
Article metadata, including the licence, is exposed in machine-readable form through OAI-PMH and deposited with Crossref, enabling automated harvesting by indexing services.
Text and Data Mining
The CC BY licence permits mining of the full corpus for research purposes without further permission, subject to attribution.
Formats
Articles are published as PDF and [HTML/XML], with supplementary datasets in open formats wherever the authors are able to share them.
Why Open Access Matters Here

Imaging research is produced and needed in settings with very different resources. A radiographer optimising a protocol in a district hospital, a medical physicist calibrating equipment, and a researcher building a diagnostic model all benefit from evidence they can reach without a subscription. Publishing without charging authors also removes the barrier that stops well-conducted research from low- and middle-income settings from reaching the literature at all.
